The Boys, a gritty superhero series, has captivated audiences with its satirical take on the superhero genre. Each season has escalated the stakes, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what's next. While there's no concrete information about Season 5, let's explore some plausible theories based on the show's history and cliffhangers.

The boys

1. The Vought International Fallout

Season 4 concluded with Vought International on the brink of collapse. With the public's trust shattered and the company's secrets exposed, it's highly likely that Season 5 will delve deeper into the aftermath of this downfall. We might see Vought attempting to regain its footing, perhaps by aligning with a new, more powerful entity or by secretly manipulating world events.

2. Homelander's Reign of Terror

Homelander's character arc has been one of the most compelling aspects of The Boys. With his god complex fully unleashed, he's likely to become even more dangerous in Season 5. We could see him consolidating his power, forming alliances with other powerful individuals or organizations, and potentially even declaring himself the ruler of the United States.

3. Zoe Neuman Kills Butcher

We see Victoria Neuman inject her daughter with Compound V in season 3, but we don’t learn what power she develops until season 4. It turns out to be pretty unusual. Zoe has four tentacles that emerge from her mouth and tear holes in anyone who gets too close. You know who else has super strong hidden tentacles? Billy Butcher, and he uses them to kill Zoe’s mom. This gives Zoe major motivation for revenge. And why would the showrunners give them such similar powers unless they plan to have them face off at some point?

4. Butcher Becomes the Villain

illy Butcher has always been a complicated character. Throughout season 4, the warring sides of his personality are represented by two hallucinations. Becca tries to convince Butcher to be compassionate, while Joe Kessler wants to release the Supe virus and wipe out every Supe on the planet. Butcher’s relationship with Ryan is one of the few things stopping him from doing just that. However, that relationship is broken in the season finale. In the end, when Butcher’s powers finally manifest, he betrays his friends, steals the Supe virus, and hits the road.

5. Soldier Boy Returns

Given what we saw in the mid-credits scene of the season 4 finale, we can pretty much assume this one is a fact. But we still don’t know who will free Soldier Boy, or what he’ll do when he’s awake. Although Homelander clearly longs for a relationship with his father, the last time they saw each other, they didn’t exactly part on good terms. That makes it unlikely, although not impossible, that Homelander will be the one to wake him.

6. The Fate of Ryan

Ryan, Homelander's son, has been a complex character. His loyalty has been divided between his biological father and the family he found with Butcher and Becca. Season 5 could explore Ryan's struggle to find his own identity and decide where his allegiance lies.

7. A Time Jump

To shake things up, Season 5 could introduce a time jump. This would allow the writers to explore the long-term consequences of the events of previous seasons and potentially introduce new plotlines and characters.

These are just a few of the many possibilities for Boys Season 5. The show's unpredictable nature and the talented creative team behind it make it difficult to predict exactly where the story will go. However, one thing is certain: fans can expect another thrilling and thought-provoking season filled with violence, humor, and social commentary.
