Guest post guidelines

• Original: your own work, not published anywhere else, including on your own site.
• Length: 500 to 1,500 words.
• Useful: answer the reader's question early, then give the detail they need. Be specific, with examples, steps and comparisons.
• Accurate: name the sources of facts, figures and dates, and use official sources where you can.
• Structure: at least two subheadings (one of them an H2), short paragraphs, and lists or tables where they help.
• Links: up to 3 links to other websites, with no more than 2 to the same site, each relevant to the article. Links to other Knewspaper articles are welcome and don't count.
• Featured image: at least 1200 × 675 px, which you own or have the right to use, with alt text describing it.
• SEO details: your own URL slug, SEO title and meta description.

Articles are checked automatically against these guidelines as you write. If a published article goes against them, we may edit or remove it.

How to submit your guest post

1. Log in or create an account on the Submit your article page, with Google or your email.
2. Add your article: paste it from Google Docs or Word (headings, lists and links are kept), then add the slug, SEO title, meta description, topic and featured image.
3. Fix anything flagged: the word count, subheadings, links and image are checked before you submit.
4. It goes live: published on Knewspaper under your name, usually within 15 minutes. Follow its status on your My account page.
