Is Noida Expensive to Live In? Cost of Living in Noida in 2026

Noida is moderately expensive: costlier than most Indian cities outside the metros, but noticeably cheaper than Gurugram and much of Delhi for the same quality of housing. Rent is the cost that decides your budget; daily expenses like groceries, transport and utilities are broadly similar across NCR.

Quick answer: no, Noida is not as expensive as Gurugram or South Delhi. In mid-2026, a 2BHK in Noida typically rents for about ₹15,000–30,000 a month, against ₹25,000–60,000 in Delhi and ₹37,000–90,000 in premium Gurugram sectors (Business Today, June 2026). Buying is also cheaper: ANAROCK puts Noida's average flat price at about ₹10,780 per sq ft in Q2 2026, compared with about ₹13,350 in Gurugram. A single person sharing a flat can live on roughly ₹30,000 a month; a family usually needs much more.

The gap is mainly about housing. If you work on the Noida Expressway, in Sector 62 or in the Sector 125–144 office belt, living in Noida instead of commuting from Delhi or Gurugram saves both rent and travel time.

Housing costs in Noida

Rent

Rents depend heavily on the sector:

  • Premium Expressway sectors such as Sector 150 and parts of Sectors 100 to 137: ANAROCK put a 1,000 sq ft 2BHK in Sector 150 at about ₹23,000–35,000 a month in Q1 2026.

  • Central and older sectors (Sectors 12, 22, 50–52, 61–62, 75–78): a wide range, from older builder floors at the low end to well-kept societies at the top.

  • Greater Noida West: about ₹19,000–26,000 for a 2BHK (ANAROCK, Q1 2026), popular with young families on a budget.

  • PGs and shared flats: NoBroker's 2025 estimates put PGs at roughly ₹4,500–20,000 a month, depending on meals, sharing and location.

Uttar Pradesh's tenancy law caps the security deposit for residential homes at two months' rent, which is lower than many tenants are used to elsewhere. If you want to avoid paying even that upfront, CirclePe says it lets tenants move in with no security deposit; compare its fees and terms first. Buying

Noida's flat prices have risen about 125% since 2019 (ANAROCK), so buying is no longer cheap. A 1,000 sq ft 2BHK typically costs ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore depending on the sector, before stamp duty and other charges. See our sector-wise guide to current flat rates in Noida.

Transport costs

  • Metro: Noida is served by Delhi Metro's Blue Line and Magenta Line, and the Aqua Line run by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation to Greater Noida. Delhi Metro fares were revised on 25 August 2025 and range from ₹11 to ₹64 per trip; the Aqua Line has its own fare table.

  • Fuel: petrol in Noida cost about ₹102 a litre in early November 2026.

  • Autos, e-rickshaws and cabs are widely available. Daily cab commutes add up quickly, so living near a metro station saves money.

  • Air travel: the new Noida International Airport at Jewar began commercial flights on 15 June 2026, which helps residents of Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway belt.

Utilities

  • Electricity: Uttar Pradesh's regulator kept most household power tariffs unchanged for 2026-27. Your bill depends mostly on AC use in summer and whether your society charges separately for power backup.

  • Water, maintenance and backup: in most societies these come through the monthly maintenance bill, usually charged per sq ft.

  • Internet and mobile: similar to other NCR cities, with many broadband providers in large societies.

NoBroker's 2025 estimate puts typical household utilities at roughly ₹2,000–5,000 a month, higher in peak summer.

Groceries, food and household help

Day-to-day costs in Noida are close to the NCR average. Large supermarkets, local markets and quick-commerce apps all compete in the city, which keeps grocery prices reasonable. NoBroker's 2025 figures suggest groceries of about ₹5,000–7,000 a month for a household and a part-time cook at about ₹3,000–4,000. Eating out and food delivery are where budgets most often slip.

Healthcare and education

Noida has large private hospitals as well as government facilities, so good care is available, but private consultations and treatment cost about as much as elsewhere in NCR. Health insurance is worth having. School fees vary from moderate to high across private schools, and for families with children they can matter more than rent. Check each school's fee structure directly, as fees change every year.
